How we work

Bridgehead offers a high quality service to our customers. We hold initial meetings with our customers to gain a full understanding of their strategy and objective. Bridgehead will then invite suitable Cheesemakers to present proposals to meet the agreed criteria. An appropriate range will then be selected, bench marked and reviewed against other operators in the market place. A presentation will be made to the customer with supporting rationale.

Bridgehead will work in partnership with you to meet your objectives and goals. We are fully aware of the time pressures placed on corporate buying teams and have developed the Bridgehead-Model to allow you to concentrate on other targets. Communication is key in the relationship. Tell us what you want and we will deliver.

Supply Chain
OVERVIEW

Bridgehead will manage all delivery to the customers depots across the country. The management of the supply chain includes the flow of information and orders back to the supplier as well as the movement of product through the supply chain to the customer.

The flow of data is designed to give each supplier as much information as possible on a daily basis to enable them to understand the trends and changes of the business as it happens, enabling them to manage their own business more effectively.

INFORMATION FLOW

  • Bridgehead receives orders from the customers on a daily basis using an EDI link .
  • Orders are transmitted in parallel to our two stockholding points.
  • Once orders have been picked the stock levels are updated daily.
  • Bridgehead deliver the product to the customers depots and receive a proof of delivery
  • Bridgehead send suppliers a daily update of their stock and orders, along with details of the remaining product life.

PRODUCT FLOW

  • Suppliers deliver their products to our consolidation points, usually weekly or fortnightly.
  • Consolidators receive and pick orders 7 days week.
  • Deliveries are made to all customers depots (Regional Distribution Centres) each day.
  • Customers deliver product from their RDC to their stores each day.
  • Product arrives in store usually 48 hours or less after leaving our consolidator.

KEY ELEMENTS

  • The flow of information is daily enabling stock to be replenished and available
    7 days a week.
  • Communication is a combination of email to give stock and order figures and
    phone contact to deal with issues as they arise.
  • Cost of storage, picking and delivery from the consolidator is included in the
    cost of the product ‘at cost’ giving a transparent and fair service.
  • Our ethos is built on open communication and dealing with issues quickly and
    effectively to ensure 7 day a week availability.
